Holiday Sunday

Hello all of my dears,

I know that it's been an incredably long time since I've posted anything, and there may be a good reason for that, because as I write this, there are sooo many gramatical and spelling errors that I should just leave. Leave it for another day.

But hey, when the insparation hits, you have to let it flow, right?

In the last two weeks I have had two outfits that made me think of you, thinking "wow, this would really go over well on my blog" but alas, I have not had the time to photograph them. Perhaps when I have the time, I will recreate the outfits and let you all see ;-)

Anyway, Today we set up our Christmas tree, and it's super pretty this year. It's not as tall of a tree as we normally get, but that's what you risk when you pick 'em from your own back yard.

Happy Almost-Christmas!

Yes, I've taken to saying Happy Christmas instead of Merry Christmas.

I'm not sure how I decided this, but today when I was talking to friends at church, it just popped out that way

"Happy Christmas!"

and they were all like

"What? Happy Christmas? Have you gone British on us?"

I suppose I have.

This past week has been a rollercoaster for me, which I'm sure you will have noticed if you follow me on Twitter at all (@TerpLiddy)

I met the guy my sister is trying to set me up with,

Was told of another guy who my co-worker *wants* to set me up with,

and saw my old crush.

Also, it was Thanksgiving.

I think that part was a blessing though, cause I couldn't have dealt with all the emotional ups and downs if I also had to deal with staying "cool" at work.

Favorites Friday

What's my favorite thing today?
God's protection.
I was on the job today and the school's van that I was riding in got rear-ended by a drunk driver.
We were mostly safe, all with sore necks and two students with minor (?) injuries who were taken to the hospital to get checked and taken care of. (I'm not sure of their status since I was taken to a separate ambulance and didn't see or hear the details).

It was scary though and I just praise God that we are all (mostly) okay and that no one was fatally injured.
The other driver was okay, but has been taken into custody due to the drunken status.

This week has been full of ups and downs, stressful and terrible at times and then completely wonderful and couldn't-get-better at others.

Let me tell you about one of the later instances!

Last night I went to an interpreted play of Shakespeare's "Twelfth Night" and it was GREAT!
I love going to plays, so I am totally biased when I give my opinion.

I hope that tomorrow I won't have too sore of a neck from the whip-lash, but I'll keep you updated,

and if you've been following my vlog at TwoNerdBirds on YouTube then you will have heard by now that my newly pierce ears were infected.
Well, thanks to some quick work and really nice salves, I have already beat the infection and the swelling has gone down substantially. Thanks to God for that too. I can't take much more drama this week.

Art Prize Monday!

Just kidding, I'm not going to make Mondays a weekly thing too... gosh that would just be TOO MUCH!

But here is a recap of my awesome weekend!

Over the weekend, my cousin Cara, who you've all heard me talk about (Hi CARA!)

came over and stayed at my house while the Aged Ps were out of town. :-)

We went to a "little" event called ART PRIZE which is held annually in Grand Rapids.

Before we went to art prize though, we went SHOPPING! Yaaaaaaay.

I bought skinny jeans! Yay, and Cara got a totally sweeeet purse.

We stopped by a coffee shop as soon as we entered "the big city" and Cara bought me some pretty sweet coffee...

Then we posed on the stares and took pictures of each other, while holding up the line of people... poor people just wanted to descend the stairs.

 Hot.

We thought that we would freeze, seeing at we live in Michigan, it's October, and we only had cardigans on to keep us warm. Smaaaaart.

We saw tons of cool art... some creepy art and some REALLY POORLY DRESSED PPL! I know that I probably shouldn't be putting other people down like that, but honestly... these chicks looked bad.

So I think that my FAVORITE piece was the story-high artsy Mona Lisa painting. It rocked. Are you ready to see some pics? SWEET!



That was my favorite part.

THEN:

We went to the mall and I got my ears RE-PIERCED because they were SUPER lopsided last time, and then the got infected and then they were all nasty and then one fell out because it was infected and then the other one got infected and i didn't know it so i took that earring out too and i couldn't get it back in and so i cried for a little while because it was depressing and we were on vacation so then i had to let them heal and also i had to prepare myself for getting them re-pierced because i hated it the first time and nearly fainted but I DIDN'T NEARLY FAINT THIS TIME!

But all in all, it was a good weekend!

Sept 18th of my life.

Hello Darlings,

lets discuss what's been happening lately.

It seems like a month since my vacation. And already I'm ready for another one. :-)

I have a satisfactory number of interpreting jobs this week. I am very pleased and blessed.

Just because I don't have 42 kajillian jobs this week doesn't mean that I won't be busy.

Tomorrow I have an all day job, then at night Cara is coming over for jogging/pilates (we'll just do one of those options... no need to worry about over exercising when I'm involved ;-))

Then Tuesday I have my first ever(!) freelance job, I'm excited about this one because it means that it's the real start of my own adventure. I get/have to do the billing all on my own, and it'll be AMAZING!

ALSO, Tuesday is our third Two Nerd Birds video done by the dear Cara! I can't wait to see what you do with it this week :-D

Tuesday nights I also have been babysitting for some children from church, whom I'm sure you've heard me mention (the three year old from my last post... yeah the one with the Owl jacket!)

Wednesday I will do a "school" job again, for Kindergarten, and I love that age kid, so I expect to have fun there. I just have to remember to wear flats!

Wednesday Night I have our church's Praise Team practice (because occasionally I sing.... yeah.) then after that, another night of jogging with my TNB cohort.

Wednesday... gosh, a lot of things happen on wednesday! But also on that day I have to figure out my Owl Wednesday post!

Thursday is quieter, with only MY TNB POST! Woot woot!

Friday is Favorites Friday here on my blog, and then it's the glorious weekend!

Owl Wednesday

I almost forgot to do today's post of Owl Wednesday!

That would have been awful, I know. I was babysitting yesterday and the three year old said that she needed to grab her jacket... so we went to their car to get it, and what does she come up with? An OWL COVERED HOODIE! How cool is that! I told her just how much I loved it. hehe.

Now, because it's Owl Wednesday, I feel the need to confess something...

I lost my owl ring.

I KNOW!

I'm devastated too!

So I went looking for another one, hoping that I could find EXACTLY THE SAME ONE...

but alas! I could not!

ugh.

On with the show!

and I don't like that kind of ring... it just feels cheap to me! But this one from MC isn't that way, and I love it!

This ring is AS CUTE AS A BUTTON and I hope to get it and finally replace the hole in my heart that was left by my other owl ring's disappearance. :-D

*sigh* the one thing I don't appreciate is how Charlotte Russe's rings are sorted. They're not.

And even though the site says that this ring is in stock... I didn't see it at the store earlier this week.

So do I risk not finding it, and drive all the way out there?

or do I pay like $6 more and get it shipped to my house?

Decisions decisions.

Oh, and this week, Cara and I have started Two Nerd Birds.

It's an Youtube Vlog between the two of us.

Favorites Friday

I can't hardly believe that it's time for Favorites Friday again! I love how quickly these event days pop up in my week. It'll be even better when Cara's and my project of Two Nerd Birds fills up the rest of the days... then I'll just have Mondays "off".

This ring is just too cute, and it reminded me perfectly of Two Nerd Birds, and I love it. My friend commented that they looked like brass knuckles, but I defend them and still say that they're cute.

Revlon's Top Speed Nail Polish

I love the above nail polish, it's really sweet and soothing color while still being "bold" and making an impact. Also, it makes my hands look nice and pale. :-D

At first I was really sorry that I bought this nail polish because even though I LOVED the color, the liquid itself was not too liquid-y... more stringy and it didn't go on well.

Thankfully, the weather change seemed to have a positive affect on it, and now it works fine! Let the love continue!

Vogue is my guilty pleasure. I've been spoiled because the library where I work (this is my last day here *sob*) gets the new Vogue regularly. I will miss this perk TERRIBLY when I'm gone.

This week has been terribly busy for me,

and I had to write this post yesterday... on "nothing Tuesday"... so that's a disappointment.

 But it's still gotten done.  

I am prepping for a job interview this afternoon at 2:00,

and I pray that it goes well! Please pray for me too,

for favorable results and for me to perform at the top of my skills.

Then, my dear Cara, I hope that you will have finished your book soon,

so that you too can join in our weekly Wednesdays and Fridays.

I am also very excited to talk about our Two Nerd Birds project that is fast approaching,

hopefully we'll have something to show on that point in the next few weeks.
