Shopping hates me

That's how we come by this love/hate relationship.

I love it,

It hates me.

I woke up this morning and looked down to find that my lovely "new" leggings were missing one of their decorative buttons.

I will be going back to Kohls and trying to exchange them because they're only a month old... do you think this'll work?

Today I went out shopping and though I tried some things on, I did not buy anything.

Let me correct that, I didn't buy any clothing.

I hit the freaking motherlode when it came to James Bond movies. !!!

I found 10 JB movies and only had to pay $9.50.

good day.

Praise the Lord

I took my state test yesterday and unlike last time, I think it went great!
I'm sure that I passed it now.
I'll soon be a Certified Interpreter.

I am going shopping today too, to the normal places like Goodwill. I'll let you know what I got, if anything.

This morning my mom came out of her bed room and handed me a pile of rings and a necklace!
What a great mom, they're old rings, with woven/twisted bands and large faces. I can't wait to incorperate them into my wardrobe.

I love big rings, don't you?

November ended up being a pretty good month of non-shopping. Even though I gave up half way through.
I only bought one thing, leggings. You'll all be so proud of me (at least i am) I finally figured out a way that I could fit the leggings into my style/wardrobe/life. I wore them out into public this past week!!!

I wore them with a jean skirt, black shirt, and a purple sweater which is nice n flowy. Add the cute flats and I was set to go see my sister's band play at the coffee house ;-)

I have been wearing the leggings literally everynight so i'm hopeing that my family will get the hint and buy me more for Christmas,

what new and awesome things have you gotten lately?

I still wear clothes!

Today my outfit was chosen because
1. I want to be warm, and
2. I want to be comfortable.

I also want to be cute, but that one's not nearly as important as warmth and comfort at this point.
I'm wearing a blue plaid 1/2 sleeved tunic shirt. it has ruffles, which you may not think goes with plaid, but they do.

This shirt is (as I said before) a tunic, and that doesn't do much for my shape, so I paired it with a lovely woven belt.

I'm wearing my wide leg jeans that are always kind to me and I may throw on some tennis shoes to complete the grouping.

have an amazing Monday!!!

November 26

I love movies, they are a true passion of mine. I have about a hundred in my own personal collection. I have been in the habit of renting at least three movies a week from my town library. I get them for a week and I watch them over and over until they beg for mercy.

This week I had a tragic occurance. Not only did I try to return my home library's copy of Transformers 2 to my college library(oops), but I accidentally accumulated three days worth of fines.

I don't know about you, but at my library it's a dollar a day for over due movies. three movies. three days.

I was so dissapointed  in myself. I have to pay it though. Bummer.

oh well, Happy Black Friday.

A time of thanks... not so much giving.

The house is becoming clean, which really means that it's a mess because mom is re-arrainging and trying to fit 12 people at our dining room table. It'll be interesting to see how this pans out.
We have a 20 pound turkey to pop in the oven and some other delicious food that's going to be there.

I love thanksgiving because it means that the Christmas season is starting. We get our tree on Saturday and can really start looking forward to the Winter.

This is my first Fall without school and I love it. I am excited for the new experiences that life is bringing.

shopping disaster

Remember how I went shopping on Thursday with my sister, and I was all excited because I thought that it would be really good? I was wrong!

My sis isn't much of a shopper, so I feel comfortable with blaming her for bringing down the mood. I like shopping on my own because then I can go at my own pace and i don't have to feel self conscious about how long I take to make a decision or the silly things that i try on.

Here's how my day went:

Kohl's, I found a pair of leggings. I am not sure how to wear them in public yet, but I am loving wearing them around the house because they're soooo comfortable. I have to fight the urge to wear them in public without pants/skirt. I mock other girls for doing that so now I must restrain myself!!!

We went to about 5 different stores, and I looked mostly at jeans. I found none because I'm not quite in shape and the store styles don't look very good on me. So I left the mall with my self esteem completely destroyed.

Hoping to find something yet, I hopped across the road to Platos. They had nothing that I wanted. UGH!!!

That was my day, four painful hours and one pair of leggings to show for it!!! I don't even know how to wear them in public!!!

oh well.. better luck next time I guess.

Then I looked on my page today and I HAVE A FOLLOWER!!!

Hello follower. How are you today? Have I amused you in some way? Or did you hit the "follow" button on accident?

on to another week of adventure.

Novemeber 18

My resolution didn't last long, but I did go for a week.
I count that a small victory.

Today I'm going shopping with my sister. We're going because Kohls has a sale! And that means that my Dutch blood is rushing and I can't wait to find some awesome deals!!

We are heading out, around 2:00 today, and I hope to get to three different stores, Kohls, Old Navy, and Platos Closet.
All of those places tend to have good sales that I love.
My sister isn't much for shopping so we're driving seperately so that she can leave after she gets shopped out.. I have a longer stamina than her (luckily), she'll probably only get through Kohls.

Here are the things that I hope to bring back to you:

... and maybe a shirt or too...

(all of those in patterns if I can)

I will let you all know how it goes!

Oh how quickly it goes.
I did get to go to a workshop yesterday, and had tons of fun. I got to brush up on my ASL and people generally liked the looks of me. No, seriously, they liked the looks I made. That's something I can take pride in too. I like to make faces, and I like it when others appreciate my faces.

The compliments came from  real certified interpreters too, and that's what really put me over the moon.
On top of all of that, I got leads for future jobs. The kinds of jobs I've been waiting for. So God is good. And he takes care of me.

I am so blessed.

Everyday. the joining of every + day, meaning daily

I pretty much stink at this whole "put up a picture of my outfit daily" plan.
And I'm failing at the "no shopping" clause. Why? because there's a sale at Kohls next weekend.
And I'm going. That's just the end of it. I'm going to go, and I'm going to buy things that are on sale. And I'm going to have fun.

are you terribly disappointed in me?

Mental breakdown

That's right. I already had one.

Last night I had a small breakdown and just craved shoes! I have stayed strong though and I haven't even been to my usual online shops. I am not sure if this should be a ban from buying things, or from (window) shopping in general. What are your thoughts? I have been stronger and it has been less painful when I have stayed fully away from clothes for sale.

My outfit post may be later today, and may even count technically as tomorrow, but I'm working today 9-4 and have a place to go tonight. This may become a regular Tuesday thing. Still, I'll try to make it pretty Jokes. (jokes=cool, for those of you who aren't into the famous 'vlog brothers' on YouTube).

Speaking of YouTube, that wonderful place. I am now addicting myself to Americas Next Top Model, because it's pretty and it helps me not think about what's happening. You should try it too. It's nice.

Okay, I'm going to work more now, I will post later with pics of today's choice.

Taking your own picture is hard

I was very excited when I thought of putting up my first outfit for today. That excitment soon dwindled.Taking your own picture is really hard. I am not going to tell my family or friends about this project that I'm doing, so therefore I am quite alone when it comes to creative ways to capture my clothes.
I bought this skirt at Walmart this spring when it was on sale. It's a cord skirt which I love. the shoes are my favorite flats which I bought from Payless.

The shirt is a thrift from Plato's Closet, but originally from Old Navy. I adore yellow, and I am obsessed with purple so I thought  that this would be a good time to show my appreciation for both. The belt is a garage sale find, with a buckle with an L on it. We got it from a guy named Lou.
Necklace is from my sister and has an oriental scene on it. I'm really cold, but I feel cute, and that's the point right? We'll see. I'm off to work to tutor some kids. I'll repost tomorrow if I can.
I ended up wearing a black blazer with the outfit because it's November and I was cold, other than that though, the outfit was a hit and one girl at work even called it "sassy".

First post of the Month

Today I have made the resolution to not buy any clothes for the month of November. I don't know what you're like, but for me, this will be extremely painful. I realized about two months ago that I go shopping every week and usually come home with a shirt or bag. I am addicted and it's dangerous.
I have awesome clothes in my wardrobe but I have been neglecting them. That's all about to change. I am not going to do the full on challenge of "30 in 30" like I've seen in other blogs (, I'm not limiting myself to thirty items from my wardrobe, but I am limiting myself to MY wardrobe.

We'll see how this goes. Seeing as a big part of my life is "window" shopping online, I expect much grief in the future.

On the bright side, it'll only be a three week commitment because I wasn't inspired until the second week of November.

Why not just go through the first week of December you say?

Because December is stressful and busy enough without having to limit my clothes too. Sometimes I just need that release of a good day shopping.

I'm starting by planning my outfit for work tonight. Doing all of this with clothes that I haven't worn in a while. I am looking forward to rediscovering my clothes.

Here starts my three week sabbatical.

and.... go!
