103: Favorites Friday

Friday!

Well I don't know about you, but I'm having a very nice Friday.
There's something so sweet about being productive in the morning.
I don't usually do it, so it's all the more shocking when I do manage to pull myself up by my bootstraps and get something done before noon (other than achieving my next life-time goal in Sims)
;-)

Okay,

Today I'm lovin' on a few things,

Extra Large Movie Poster Image for Project Runway
!!!
Last night they did a riddikulus challenge about designing for babies, and I must say, the babies were the best part. I think the judges couldn't hardly get through critiquing because of the adorableness of the babies in front of them!

And then, while I was watching with my parents, my mother turned to me and asked
"who's Heidi Klum? Should I know her"
:-O I about turned inside out as I quickly responded with
"SHE'S HEIDI KLUM! SHE'S A SUPERMODEL! FROM GERMANY!!!!"
*sigh*

So, on another note, I did buy this watch after all of my going back and forth...

It's super cute, and it was super cheap from Sammydress
Be warned though, that since the company is based in China, the shipping takes a while and can be a little pricey if the item doesn't come with free shipping (like this beauty did)..
But if you think about it, the low cost of the items kind of make up for the cost of shipping... so it all evens out :-)

Speaking of Sammydress,
I have a new item that I'm vacillating over...
This is such a cute envelope bag, and I've liked the style for a while now,
I'm ordering it today (yay!) and I'm super excited :-)
I like to window shop for things, and it definitely peaks my interest and convinces me to buy more when I see that something is cute AND affordable. :-)

Now, in the past year or so, I have for sure caught House-Fever. It's like baby fever, but you don't need a man to cure it. ;-)
So anyway, I love all things decor and design, anything that will give me ideas about how to "dress" my house once I *finally* buy it!

 Well,
I'm exhausted from the shopping and talking, so I'm gonna retire to some home-made pizza..
have a great weekend all!

I do declare... that I love me some skirts!

Hello Lovelies :)
I hope you enjoy these little gems that I found for you ;-)

After seeing and loving this wonderful yellow skirt, I was surprised and excited to see that
Modcloth had used another Blogger as one of their advertisement pictures for it!!! Woot woot!
What a wonderful way to end the post.

Favorites Fridays

Shoes.
How much better could it get?
I used to not appreciate shoes like I do now.
For one: I used to really hate my feet (they were the bane of my existence)
and secondly: I just didn't really "get" them...

Needless to say, I have bigger issues than my feet now, and so instead of fighting them and feeling all down in the dumps, I've really come to appreciate them!
Even though it's still hard to find sizes that fit them (don't we all have trouble with this though? on some level? narrow feet, wide feet, small feet, large feet [I feel like Dr. Seuss now!])
I've stopped caring about the difficulty of it all!
Why fight what you can't change?!

ON TO THE SHOES!

*drool* SO CUTE!I'm not usually a rhinestone kind of girl... but these are really really hot and *I think* subtle enough to be super wearable! Also, a lot of the flashier shoes tend to go too over-the-top for me and remind me of a *cough*hooker*cough* which is NOT GOOD. Anyway, these don't cross that line, and that's why I like them soo.

Everyday Energy Heel in Green
What a darling shoe. I appreciate the great color that they made it in, and the stylish feel, with the still-stable heel.
Very nice. :-)

So now I've posted at *LEAST* two things from this new site that I want to talk about.

Sammydress.com

This site is super awesome so far, it has really cute styles and their prices are INSANELY INEXPENSIVE!
I was flabbergasted when I first saw them.
So you know how usually these things are just too good to be true?
Well this one's not.
I haven't found any catches yet.
The dress above is only $8, and on select items they offer free shipping.
Because I was so skeptical about how "safe" an unbelievable site like this could be,
I checked out some reviews of it, and they're (for the most part) positive!
I'm stoked for when I make my first order, and I highly recommend that you gals check out this site too!

ALSO girlies! If you DO have any issues with this site, let me know in the comments! Share the knowledge my lovelies. :-)

Ta ;-)

OWL WEDNESDAY!

After all of the craziness of the week and of life in general,
it's nice to get back to just talking about pretty things
and feel reconnected with what I love.

I found a fantastic new website that I'm excited to show you on Friday for Favorites Friday's post....
you should start getting excited now :-)

I'm a wise one
It's so cutsie and fun and light/airy.
Very Cool.

Now, this next pic is unfortunately the best I could pull from the website, I understand why they felt the need to make it so hard... but it's still a bummer when I'm trying to showcase what awesome work they've done...

Over-Sized Owl Shirt Dress
It's just so darned cute.
And maybe it has to do with my envy of tiny Asian girls and how adorable they look in just about *everything*
But still... it's cute, laid back, and fun!

Owl Cuff
*-* eeeeeeeee!

how adorkable is that?
very. very very.
Darn these thick wrists I have been cursed with!
I am too much Dutch blood in me to even dream of being able to wear this beautiful cuff...
so I'll just look at it from afar and dream of the places we'd go together... *sigh*
(I may just have to buy it anyway)

oh well.

happy Wednesday my lovelies!
I hope you have a great day and find some cheer from this little taste of Owl-y-ness

;-)

Favorites Friday

Seine Sunset Dress
soo pretty so pretty so pretty.

At first this dress is all, calm and sweet... then you turn around and WOW!
Foam Design

It turns into this! And I'm in love.
I like tea, and I think that this little guy is very sweet.
I would love to have him floating in my cup!
Armed with Technology Tea Infuser

And he's all like "I'm so happy to be in your cup!"

I am falling more and more in love with old styles like this
Eva Franco Earthen Angel
it's so pretty and the pattern is sweet but bold.
Again, black, lace *!* and classy. I approve.

This Friday is going to be a real 'win' for me. I have it off from work and I am spending it:
1. doing bills
2. cleaning my room
3. working on my dad's birthday present with my sister
4. Shopping with the sister!

I'm excited, and I hope that you are all having a nice Friday too.

Art Prize Monday!

Just kidding, I'm not going to make Mondays a weekly thing too... gosh that would just be TOO MUCH!
But here is a recap of my awesome weekend!
Over the weekend, my cousin Cara, who you've all heard me talk about (Hi CARA!)
came over and stayed at my house while the Aged Ps were out of town. :-)
We went to a "little" event called ART PRIZE which is held annually in Grand Rapids.

Before we went to art prize though, we went SHOPPING! Yaaaaaaay.
I bought skinny jeans! Yay, and Cara got a totally sweeeet purse.

We stopped by a coffee shop as soon as we entered "the big city" and Cara bought me some pretty sweet coffee...
Then we posed on the stares and took pictures of each other, while holding up the line of people... poor people just wanted to descend the stairs.

 Hot.

We thought that we would freeze, seeing at we live in Michigan, it's October, and we only had cardigans on to keep us warm. Smaaaaart.

We saw tons of cool art... some creepy art and some REALLY POORLY DRESSED PPL! I know that I probably shouldn't be putting other people down like that, but honestly... these chicks looked bad.

So I think that my FAVORITE piece was the story-high artsy Mona Lisa painting. It rocked. Are you ready to see some pics? SWEET!

That was my favorite part.

THEN:
We went to the mall and I got my ears RE-PIERCED because they were SUPER lopsided last time, and then the got infected and then they were all nasty and then one fell out because it was infected and then the other one got infected and i didn't know it so i took that earring out too and i couldn't get it back in and so i cried for a little while because it was depressing and we were on vacation so then i had to let them heal and also i had to prepare myself for getting them re-pierced because i hated it the first time and nearly fainted but I DIDN'T NEARLY FAINT THIS TIME!

But all in all, it was a good weekend!
And I will see you on Wednesday for OWL WEDNESDAY!

~Liddy~

Ps. Cara and I have been making Two Nerd Bird videos, and this is our fourth week, so you should go check it out on YouTube!

Barn Sales

Sitting behind my dearest mother in the car (while we were parked at the gas station), I saw her pull down her mirror and look at her hair... it would seem that one darned piece was longer than all of the others.
She asked if I happened to have a scissors around, and that being about the only thing I do NOT have in my bag, I was forced to disappoint her hopes.

She said that it was alright, because she had her Jack Knife in her pocket and could take care of the problem herself.

:-O

Here's evidence of the event:

At our first estate sale, which we almost didn't find because of
our dead Tomtom, and then just happened to stumble upon, I saw this couch.
That, is a real statement piece. WOW.
A tiny little bit of me really really WANTS IT!

The same lovely home-maker who had THAT couch above, also owned a closet full
of FURS! I loved that closet. It was the BEST part of the whole day. She had two mink capes, and this beaver coat, and they were BRILLIANT!

Left to right: Unknown short coat with fur collar and cuffs,
White mink coat (DROOOOOOL), Silvery mink caplet, three-ish small wraps... I'm not sure what kind of animal... Fox? They were alright, but I'm not much for the furs with heads/feet/tails still attached. And lastly, on the right is the long beaver coat that I tried on. They ranged in price from $1,000 to $10.

This owl was at Harbor Freight, and I took a picture of it because with it's missing eye,
it was just too creepy to pass up.
I did have some good luck at the other sales,
I got some earrings, including a nice little set of "pearl" studs.
And a whole set of earrings, ring and necklace of this pretty little star design. "diamond" flower with green stone in the middle. Very nice.

I hope you all had a similarly nice day.
