108: OWL WEDNESDAY

Hello my pets and my loves,

after a disappointing election, it's nice to get away for a bit and just see life without the politics attached.
It's so easy to get wrapped up in our government (and believe me, it's important to know what's happening out there...) but we can forget to just see life as God has given it to us.

So here's to the little joys that are around and in front of us.

Believe it or not, 

I try not to just post things because they're Owl themed... 

I try to pick things that are either fabulous or ridiculous... 

these little cuties are just kinda adorable and I just couldn't pass them by...

This week we were gifted with the head of an opossum in our garden...
Which was *lovely*
but the interesting thing was, there were no tracks around the head...

we have surmised that a very large owl (which my father has seen around the area)
did some hunting on our land and dropped the *shudder* head off for us.

So gross...
anyway, it's hard to imagine an Owl as a predator when all you think of are these adorable little nick-knacks

I thought that yesterday was Wednesday... and somehow today felt like a Tuesday or Thursday...

105: Owl Wednesday

 I had a wonderfully blessed and busy day today, and I was happy to realize that it's Wednesday and that means I can do my Owl Wednesday post!

I usually feel like an OW post on... like a Thursday or something, and then I've just missed the mark and have to wait a whole 'nother week to write the post!

Yes yes, very tragic. 

What's so wonderful about this bag, is that you may not notice that it's an owl-inspired design if you're not looking close enough. I like that it's subtle.

Long live the sparkly incognito owl bags! :-)

103: Favorites Friday

Friday!

Well I don't know about you, but I'm having a very nice Friday.

There's something so sweet about being productive in the morning. 

I don't usually do it, so it's all the more shocking when I do manage to pull myself up by my bootstraps and get something done before noon (other than achieving my next life-time goal in Sims)

Today I'm lovin' on a few things,

Last night they did a riddikulus challenge about designing for babies, and I must say, the babies were the best part. I think the judges couldn't hardly get through critiquing because of the adorableness of the babies in front of them!


And then, while I was watching with my parents, my mother turned to me and asked
"who's Heidi Klum? Should I know her"
:-O I about turned inside out as I quickly responded with
"SHE'S HEIDI KLUM! SHE'S A SUPERMODEL! FROM GERMANY!!!!"
*sigh*

So, on another note, I did buy this watch after all of my going back and forth...

It's super cute, and it was super cheap from Sammydress
Be warned though, that since the company is based in China, the shipping takes a while and can be a little pricey if the item doesn't come with free shipping (like this beauty did)..
But if you think about it, the low cost of the items kind of make up for the cost of shipping... so it all evens out :-)

I have a new item that I'm vacillating over...

This is such a cute envelope bag, and I've liked the style for a while now,
I'm ordering it today (yay!) and I'm super excited :-)
I like to window shop for things, and it definitely peaks my interest and convinces me to buy more when I see that something is cute AND affordable. :-)


Now, in the past year or so, I have for sure caught House-Fever. It's like baby fever, but you don't need a man to cure it. ;-)
So anyway, I love all things decor and design, anything that will give me ideas about how to "dress" my house once I *finally* buy it!

 Well,
I'm exhausted from the shopping and talking, so I'm gonna retire to some home-made pizza..

Work Wear

I work as an interpreter, for the some of you who don't know, 

and as such, it's restrictive of what I can wear on the job.

The clothing can't be patterned and the colors have to contrast my skin color so that my  hands can show up well when I'm signing. Since I'm the palest possible, this means dark, blacks and browns and deep purples. 

Here are just a few things that I would LOVE to try out at an assignment. :-)

Monday Avoidance

Well I'm back from vacation (actually I was already back on Saturday, but somehow Mondays always seem  to make it more official) and I'm amazed at the opportunities that God has showered down upon me. Subsequently, I have a lot of praying and deciding to do... and I don't like making decisions very well. 

So here goes me, avoiding decisions and instead opting to become distracted with prettiness...

Lace Love

 

Oh! Oh! OH!

OOOooooh maaaaaah gooodness this is such a "me" dress.

I am a big sucker for lace, to begin with.

and it has just enough country touch that I can see me wearing it DAILY in Future-House ;-)

Last Night as I was Dreaming

I thought of my Future-House

and imagined the office/workspace that I would set up there...

I absolutely love willow trees, and this is just the perfect touch for bringing that love indoors

I'm terrible at making decisions. So this is just what I need. Ha!

 

 

I love this idea for a girl/guy who's just moved out for the first time,

cause how on earth am I supposed to know what to buy?!

I love pretty much all of the products by Knock Knock

they're stellar.

And super cool for a person like me, who dreams of being organized but just can't seem to do it on her own...

 

 

I pretty much suck at keeping a fish alive.

I went through a stage when I really wanted a fish, and I kept buying them after the previous fishy died... but after the third or fourth one, I kinda gave up. :-(

I may try again one day, if I could get this fish bowl and set it up real pretty on my desk :-)

Maybe then fishy would survive... *fingers crossed*

What good is a new house with a world full of oppertunities if you don't take a hold of them by the horns and make them bend to your will?

... well... that's what this lamp says to me...

it says... "your mother wouldn't understand this piece if you brought it home to her... BUT YOUR MOTHER AIN'T HERE! THIS IS YOUR HOUSE NOW!!! woot woot!"...

yeah... it's a very vocal lamp.

this clock screams CARA! to me,

so maybe as a homage to her, I would incorperate it into the design of the dream-y office plan. :-)

Love and Pain

I have this thing...

I sometimes love a post soo much that i see it as a shame to write a new one and

 "demote" the current star of the show...

I think I'm going to have to get over this though.

I simply adore the last three posts that I've done,

they make my heart melt and my wallet cry out in pain ;-)

 

I've been feeling weirdly geeked about my blog lately!

This cuff is super sweet and a great pop of color to add to an outfit.

So far, their prices are reasonable and they have some pretty cool stuff. :-)

 

 

I recently saw another pair of peacock earrings, and I just can't seem to keep them out of my mind.

When ever I go to the store now I always look at them... dreaming of the day that I'll be able to justify $15 on earrings.

ANYWAY... these are very very very pretty also, and equally tempting.

 

 

They're a lovely color of blue, they're bold, they're SWEET...

and the fact that they're large statement pieces just makes my day.

 

Some of you may recall the great drama of my life *ha*

that happened last year when I got my ears pierced.

It was a whole thing about them being woggedy and off-centered and stuff...

so anyway, now that I've been pierced for almost a full year, it's hard to believe that I was ever that worried about it.

 

My ears are FINE now...

no probs.

they've stopped catching infections and stuff (thank you God)

so now I'm able to focus on this new totally rad way of accessorizing!!!
